Test run was awesome!

With a week to go to the big trip, Carolynn and I took an RV test run to Rochester, NY to cook in a BBQ competition for the Memorial Day weekend.

She worked on Friday, so I drove the seven hours there myself. The RV drove like a charm! And... the RV towed a trailer behind with no problems. It was the perfect size for the weekend and I expect to have the same feeling for the big trip. Murph and Rocco tagged along to Roc City. They both loved it. I'm sooo happy that Murph will make the longer trip and a bit saddened that Rocco won't be able to come. Carolynn drove part of the way back and handled the RV without a prob. Bring on the 8,000 miles!!!

Well not only was the RV trip a success, but the BBQ competition went well for the Sweet Chicken team as well. We placed 10th of 37 in the grilling competition and 8th of 69 in the BBQ competition, placing 2nd in chicken and 9th in ribs. It was a great warm-up for the Harpoon BBQ Championships at the end of our trip.
